FOX vs Gibbs

By ConcernedConservative on October 21, 2009

The press is a distinct and separate body from our government.  Our nations free press has the responsibility and the obligation to critique the actions of our government. Apparently Robert Gibbs’ education in Political Science did not give him any insight as to why our founding fathers wrote, “Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press” in this little thing called The First Amendment.

It is disgustingly inappropriate for Gibbs to speak as a representative as our White House and belittle FOX News.  Then he has the audacity to ridicule specific opinion programs, namely Beck and Hannity.  Yes, a representative of our white house actually chose to degrade an opinion. Did Bush ever send out any four of his Press Secretaries to attempt to blackball those that critiqued him?

No, not once. Bush had the propriety and the intelligence to see how ridiculously mal beneficial that would have been. I can think of one President that decided to do this. Good ‘ol Richard Nixon attacked the Washington Post and specifically Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein as they started to publish their findings concerning the Watergate scandal.

So, instead of discussing what Gibbs is saying we need to wonder why he is saying this.  What does Obama have to hide? Why can’t he gracefully accept the media scrutiny that is an integral part of our political system? FOX, keep at ’em.  That’s what you’ve promised the American people you will do, that’s what we need you to do.  Find what they’re hiding. Find what they’re so ashamed of. They are so scared that they have resorted to using their political positions to bully you. Go find what’s making them so scared.
