Newt Gringrich and the GOP Caucuses

By ConcernedConservative on December 7, 2011

As the presidential election looms ever closer, the nation is eagerly anticipating who the Republican presidential candidate will be.  The first four states are getting ready to hold the election for the GOP nomination. Recent surveys show that Newt Gringrich tops the field by double digits in three of these four states.

Apparently, the tea party movement is contributing a lot of numbers to the support of Newt Gringrich. Interestingly, only half of the people questioned in each of the surveyed states say that their mind had been made up.

This poll found that one-third of the people that are likely to participate in the caucus in Iowa are going to vote for Gingrich. Mitt Romney is thirteen points behind.

On January 3rd, Iowa’s caucuses will start the presidential nomination contest. Exactly one week later on January 10th, the New Hampshire primary will take place as well.

The poll was conducted by ORC International for CNN and Time magazine.
