Sarah Palin on the Tonight Show

Tuesday on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Sarah Palin announced her new roll in the upcoming Las Vegas show; she’ll be playing Tina Fey.

For the host of Americans that think Tina Fey was running with McCain on the Republican ticket, Palin is making even more of a presence in American media.

No, she is not playing Fey in Vegas, however Palin’s Tonight Show appearance was definitely an opportunity for her to transition into her new public life.

Palin cracked jokes aimed at herself, her host, and her opponents/critics. She reiterated past sentiments and revisited touchy experiences. As Leno’s first guest on his first new show, even with the loss of viewers during Palin’s monologue, Jay was up from last year at this time and well above the viewer ratings of his TV schedule contemporary, David Letterman.

Hitting on Palin’s new and many pastimes, Leno’s show exhibited a woman who will retain her status as an outspoken public figure. Speaking of public figures, has anyone seen Joe Biden lately?

And she’s happy she’s not vice president. “I would not know what to do with all that free time,” she quipped.
