Boehner Talking a Strong Stand

By ConcernedConservative on January 21, 2011

What a relief to have Boehner in Congress! How exciting to know that his first order of business was to read the Constitution. A document that has been neglected and sorely abused recently in politics.

Not only is he attempting to bring America (or at least Congress) back to the its roots he is also bringing back some morality into our government. Who woulda guessed it was possible!?

Recently Boehner made it clear that creating a ban on taxpayer’s money being spent on abortions is of a very high priority.

He said, “Our members feel strongly about the sanctity of human life. We listened to the American people, we made a commitment to the American people in our Pledge to America and we’re continuing to fulfill our commitment.”

AMAZING! A man that not only has made it a priority to keep his promises but he has also made morals and the sanctity of human life a priority.

There is HOPE for this country and lets pray that we may eventually have hope not only in congress but also in our President.

God Bless America.

The tax cuts that Bush passed during his administration are still standing strong. Which is interesting, considering Obama spoke against those tax cuts openly and discussed how he would overturn them while he was running for President.

Obama says that he has had no choice in the manner and that because he was going to be outnumbered anyways he did not fight to have the tax cuts abolished.

Maybe Bush wasn’t so bad after all? Bush’s tax cuts have stayed around for many years now and even our Democratic president has not decided to go head to head with these policies to have them abolished.

But, who is really surprised? President Obama is not doing something he said he woule do when he was running for President, that’s just old news.

Wikileaks

By ConcernedConservative on December 9, 2010

All of the recent news about Wikileaks has given the American public a lot to think about. It is important to take the time to understand the issue and all of the issues that come attached to this problem.

We believe in the right to free speech and to information. But at what limit are we going to say, “ENOUGH!”. There are some facts and there is some information that the public does not need to know. By giving out classified information we could be putting the lives of men and women overseas at risk as well as men and women that are fighting for our nation here in the United States.

Although there is interesting information posted on this site is it any information that is integral to the day to day functionality of a citizen? NO!

The creator is wanted for rape charges in another country, the leaked information is not helpful, the leaked information puts men and women of our country in danger.

The site needs to go.

Voting Results

By ConcernedConservative on November 3, 2010

The day after everyone is able to vote is an exciting day. As you watch to see which officials were elected take the time to offer a prayer of thanks for your ability to vote. The United States may have some crazy leaders in power right now, but we have been blessed with the ability to freely express our political opinions.

As a United States Citizen it is your responsibility to get out there and vote. To be a part of the public sphere and contribute your opinion is not only a right but an expectation. We have men and women all over the world fighting to defend these rights and values that are unique in our world today.

If you did not vote yesterday, get ready to vote for the next election. Register and educate yourself concerning the candidates that you are able to cast your vote for. If we all contribute to these votes and this society we may be able to see a radical change in our government in the next few years.

The Oval Office Makeover

By ConcernedConservative on September 3, 2010

While our President took some time off by vacationing at a luxurious farm, the interior decorators at the White House stayed busy.  His West Wing office was completely re-decorated.  Although the White House says that this West Wing renovation came at no cost of the tax payers, they will not say how much this new look cost.

Why would our President decide to re-decorate his office during these times of economic struggle? It just does not make any logical sense to re-decorate when his people are losing homes and struggling financially.  With the vast amount of economic knowledge that our President has, it seems he would be sensitive to the many Americans that are struggling.

Although redecorating his office does not make him a horrible president, it does seem to show a complete lack of tact and propriety.  Empathizing with his people during a time of economic hardship seems to be absolutely necessary.  Instead, he ostracizes those struggling even more by parading the wealth of the white house shamelessly.

What happened to a president for the people? Or even of the people?

Sharing Your Beliefs

At the University of Illinois, a professor by the name of Ken Howell who has taught at the school for nine years was recently fired. A student came forth with the claim that this instructor was engaging in hate speech during a Catholicism course. All the professor said was that he agreed with the church’s teaching that homosexual acts are immoral. Robin Kaler who is the school’s spokeswoman said that his firing was a personnel issue and declined any further comments. Of course the student was not even brave enough to come forward on his own. He had a friend register the complaint and has chosen to remain anonymous.

Cary Nelson, president of the American Association of University Professors says that teachers are allowed to express their own beliefs and that he should not have lost his job over it. Or course, if things were flipped the other way and the professor said that homosexual acts were perfectly fine, then he probably would’ve gotten praised for it. No way would he have gotten fired for being so tolerant towards homosexuals. We should be allowed to share our beliefs and not be punished for it, especially if they are more conservative in nature. Why should the liberals try and control what we talk about?
